Celtic Solstice Part 5

It is so fun to learn each Friday what we will be making next on our Celtic Solstice Mystery Quilt! The Chevrons above are finished for Part 2 and are measuring at 3 1/2 by 3 1/2.  Still more to do on Parts 3 & 4.  I have the pieces cut out for Part 5 and have just assembled the 2 shown above. This is the first time I have ever made a quilt with so many pieces! I have learned so much from Bonnie as she has such great directions with so much detail. Here's wishing everyone a Happy New Year!

Part 4 of Celtic Solstice-Four Patch Blocks

This Christmas Quilt which was in Quiltmaker Magazine caught my eye. Consequently, I've gotten a bit distracted from my Celtic Solstice Mystery Quilt. However, I did get 5 Four Patch blocks assembled for Part 4. I also have several paired 2" strips sewn together. I'd like to have the top assembled for the Christmas Quilt by Monday. This is a project my quilt group is working on. We shared our Christmas fabrics so we'd have a big variety of 5" squares. I have 2 quilting retreats coming up in January at which time I will be able to finish the things I don't have finished for CS.

Celtic Solstice Part 3

Part 3 Pinwheels!
It's been a struggle with Christmas shopping, parties and normal home life, but I did get this far. Still haven't finished Part 2. I also spent a lot of time reading about Bonnie's adventures in Germany.

My Chevrons are coming along slowly. I now have 40 and 60 to go! I'm eager to see what Bonnie has up her sleeve for part 3!

Chevrons

Four done and 96 to go! I finished Part 1 at Beaver Creek Quilter's Sew In and managed to cut out all 600 pieces needed to make the Chevrons. They are going to be a challenge as everything is so small and therefore requires greater accuracy.I hope I can keep up! Brynda from Wisconsin

Celtic Solstice Part 2 I have 29 more squares to make for Part 1 before I begin Part 2. Tomorrow I have a Christmas Sew In/Pot Luck with my quilt group so I will have lots of time to work on the Chevrons. This is the second mystery quilt for me and the first one had much larger pieces so I was able to finish it quickly. I can see that Bonnie likes lots of little pieces. My quilting assistant is pictured below. You can tell she wants to go with me to the Quilter's Retreat.
